Module “2nd Survey concerning the Russo-Ukrainian War”

In September 2022, half a year after Russia started its invasion on Ukraine, we conducted a second round of surveys on the subject of well-being. The results show that fears and concerns about the war have somewhat decreased compared to the week after the war began (when the first survey was conducted).

At the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in March 2022, 69% of respondents stated to be very or fairly afraid of the consequences of the war. Six months later, in September, it was 51%.

However, fears of the effects of war still outweighed all other fears (Fig. 1).

In the second round of surveys, we also asked the participants which effects of war they feared specifically. The participants were most afraid of it triggering a general economic crisis (Fig. 2).
