The CARLA study (Cardiovascular Disease, Living and Ageing in Halle) is a population-based cohort study in the city of Halle (Saale). The aim of the CARLA study is to collect information on the prevalence and incidence of cardiovascular diseases and their risk and prognostic factors, with special reference to age, using a representative sample of the population of the city of Halle (Saale) aged 45 to 83 years at baseline.
