or &#8222;Post COVID&#8220;.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">We used our DigiHero study to ask about infections and symptoms.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">We were particularly interested in the influence of the virus variants on the development of long-term symptoms.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">We were able to find that participants who were infected with omicron (as of January 2022) suffered less frequently from long-term symptoms.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Only 14% reported still having symptoms 12 weeks after infection.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In contrast, when infected with the wild type (March 2020 to January 2021), the figure was 52% (Table 1).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The symptoms most commonly reported were fatigue, cognitive impairment and shortness of breath.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Our research results are currently being prepared for publication in a scientific journal.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Further follow-up surveys are currently underway to investigate how long those affected will continue to have symptoms.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-b0a821a elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"b0a821a\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-334c624\" data-id=\"334c624\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7212bde elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7212bde\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span jsaction=\"mouseup:Sxi9L,BR6jm;
