About CoPreP
Background
Pandemics pose one of the greatest threats to humanity. Although the World Health Organization (WHO) has been addressing this problem for many years, the COVID-19 pandemic has shown how massive the deficits and knowledge gaps in the preparation of healthcare systems for pandemic situations still are.
Aims
With its projects, the CoPreP initiative of University Medicine Halle (Saale) aims to contribute to strengthening pandemic preparedness in Saxony-Anhalt with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also developing strategies to better prepare for future pandemics for Saxony-Anhalt and Germany as a whole.
CoPreP Team
More than 40 scientists from 30 institutes and clinical facilities of the University Medical Center Halle (UMH) form the consortium “CoPreP” (Collaboration for Pandemic Preparedness).
